Blue Yarrow Essential Oil, also known as simply Yarrow Essential Oil, is dark blue in color due to its chamazulene content. The compound chamazulene exhibits anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic characteristics.

Today it grows well as a beautiful, perennial garden plant over most of North America, except in the desert Southwest. The stalk of the Yarrow plant are still used today by the Chinese for casting I Ching predictions.
Yarrow Essential Oil smells sharp, woody, herbaceous, fruity and somewhat sweet. The Essential Oil of Yarrow is extracted by steam distillation of its leaves and flowering tops. The primary components of this essential oil are sabinene, chamazulene, B-mycrene, and germacrene D.

COMMON USES OF BLUE YARROW ESSENTIAL OIL
To tighten pores and reduce oily skin add a couple drops of yarrow oil to a Witch Hazel extract with no more than 12 percent alcohol. Shake it well, and dab on the face for an excellent spot treatment.
Treat oily hair by adding 12-15 drops of yarrow oil to two cups of water and using this as a final rinse after washing your hair.
